Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions

To install TotalSecurity: 1) Download the plugin file from your account dashboard, 2) Go to WordPress Admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, 3) Choose the downloaded file and click Install Now, 4) Activate the plugin and enter your license key. Our setup wizard will guide you through the initial configuration.

If your site is compromised: 1) Immediately run a full malware scan from the TotalSecurity dashboard, 2) Review the security logs to identify the breach point, 3) Use the one-click malware removal tool, 4) Change all passwords (WordPress admin, FTP, database), 5) Restore from a clean backup if needed, 6) Contact our emergency support team for assistance.

Navigate to TotalSecurity → Firewall in your WordPress admin. You can choose from three protection levels: Basic, Standard, or Advanced. For custom rules, go to Advanced Settings where you can whitelist IPs, block countries, set rate limits, and configure specific attack protections. We recommend starting with Standard mode and adjusting based on your needs.

False positives can occur with custom code or unusual plugin functionality. To resolve: 1) Review the flagged file to verify it's legitimate, 2) Add it to the exclusion list via Security → Malware Scanner → Exclusions, 3) Update your scan patterns to the latest version, 4) If you're using custom code, consider whitelisting specific patterns. Contact support if you need help verifying file integrity.

To restore a backup: 1) Go to TotalSecurity → Backups, 2) Select the backup date you want to restore, 3) Choose whether to restore files only, database only, or both, 4) Click "Restore" and confirm, 5) The restoration process will begin and you'll receive a notification when complete. Always test the restoration on a staging site first if possible.

TotalSecurity is optimized for performance with minimal impact on site speed. The firewall operates at the DNS level before requests reach your server. Malware scans run in the background during low-traffic periods. If you experience slowness: 1) Check scan schedule settings, 2) Review firewall caching options, 3) Adjust scan frequency based on your plan, 4) Contact support for performance optimization recommendations.
